Community Spirit, Identity and Amenities
The Community Spirit, Identity, and Amenities Task Force is responsible for thinking about how to keep the strong sense of community that exists as Lenexa continues to grow. Other related topics include the beautification and image of Lenexa, quality community amenities and activities that are intergenerational, cultural and recreational, and preserving the small-town feel as the population grows.

Education
The Education Task Force is responsible for thinking about the intellectual capital of Kansas education. This may include discussions on the quality of education opportunities and facilities, access to formal and informal education and building a community with exceptional education.

Housing and Neighborhoods
The Housing and Neighborhoods Task Force is responsible for exploring a variety of issues that likely will include the qualities and characteristics of sustainable neighborhoods (infrastructure as well as green practices and energy alternatives), opportunities for reinvesting in neighborhoods, what is affordable housing in Lenexa, and how to provide life cycle housing.

Infrastructure and Transportation
The Infrastructure and Transportation Task Force is responsible for thinking about local and regional access for our community. This may include capital assets, traffic management, street design and cutting-edge transportation.

Safe and Healthy Community
The Safe and Healthy Community Task Force is responsible for ideas involving health and wellness, public safety, emergency preparedness/homeland security, and a safe, cohesive community.

Strong Economic Base
The Strong Economic Base Task Force is responsible for ideas involving how to manage Lenexa’s economic growth to ensure that Lenexa is well-planned, balanced and remains economically vital. These discussions may involve topics such as regional and local draws that benefit Lenexa, revitalization and maintenance of existing business, and opportunities to increase retail and restaurant development.

Sustainable Quality Community Growth
The Sustainable Quality Community Growth Task Force is responsible for visioning how to keep Lenexa a progressive community. The task force is likely to discuss topics such as preserving the quality of Lenexa as a “small town” in a big metroplex, balancing residential and commercial development, and building our community for the future.
