You can adopt an animal by contacting any area shelter to inquire about adoption fees and procedures. Shelters are listed in the Yellow pages under animal shelters.

Cost:
All kittens and puppies under 6 months of age are $80.
All cats and dogs over 6 months are $95. This includes a one-year rabies vaccine.

New owners have the option of 'Package Deals', which include: Heartworm preventative, monthly flea treatments and Animal Haven ID tags.

Adoption Process:
All smaller animals over 8 weeks of age will be neutered or spayed prior to putting them up for adoption. All large to extra large dogs will be neutered or spayed at the time of adoption. Adoption fees will be collected at the time of adoption, however, there is a 24 to 48 hour waiting period after the surgery. If the animal does not work out, you may bring it back and exchange it for a different animal within 7 days.

There are no refunds.

Kittens and puppies will be given their first shots and wormed. Adult dogs are tested for heartworm and adult cats are tested for feline leukemia. All animals are inoculated for kennel cough. Cats and dogs over the age of six months are vaccinated for rabies prior to leaving the shelter. All cities require both cats and dogs to be vaccinated and licensed at the age of six months.

Most cities have a limit of pets per household. Please check your City ordinances prior to adopting.
