Animal complaints are handled by the Animal Control Officers of the Lenexa Police Department. They respond to calls that involve loose, injured, or captured animals whether domestic or livestock. Animal Control also handles matters concerning barking dogs, neglected animals, and animal bites. Officers will remove wild animals from inside a residence or outdoor structure if it can be done with handheld equipment. Officers will also respond to calls involving injured or ill wildlife.

If you need any advice on wildlife damage control or if you have a situation that may require live-capture trapping, please contact the Animal Control Division at 477-7385 for a list of companies that provide this service, or check your Yellow Pages or on-line directory under Pest Control Services. Animal Control Officers no longer provide traps or trapping services to residents.

PROCEDURE:
Non-emergency animal complaints are handled through the Lenexa Police Dispatcher or directly with the Animal Control Division.

FEES:
There is no charge for services provided by the Animal Control Officers. However, if your animal is picked up as the subject of a complaint, it may be subject to Animal Fines.
