A cereal malt beverage license must be obtained for beverages consumed on the premise or purchased in unopened containers.
PROCEDURE:
In order to qualify for a cereal malt beverage license, the applicant must be:
• A resident in good faith of the State of Kansas for at least one year
• A resident of Johnson County for at least six months
• A citizen of the United States
• A person who has not been convicted of a felony or adjudged guilty of any intoxication liquor law of any state.
The application form for a cereal malt beverage license is available from the Department of Community Development at City Hall. This form, which has been approved by the Attorney General of the State of Kansas, requires verification of the above requirements and general information about the applicant and proposed business location.
Upon completion of the form, it is sent to the Lenexa Police Department for investigation. When the application is approved and accompanied by the license fee, staff shall then place it on the agenda for the next City Council meeting for approval.
