Any person wanting to open a private club or drinking establishment in the City of Lenexa will need to obtain a drinking establishment license.

PROCEDURE:
Before you may obtain a drinking establishment license you will need to purchase your Kansas Drinking Establishment License from the State of Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. They are located in Topeka and can be reached by phone at 1-877-526-7738.

Your state license is then presented to the Department of Community Development and a copy is made for the city's records. Upon payment of the fee, the City license shall be issued.

Hours of operation for serving alcoholic liquor are between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 1:30 A.M. If your business has more than 30% in food sales you may sell alcoholic liquor on Sundays in addition to your Monday through Saturday sales.

FEES:
There is fee for obtaining a drinking establishment license in the City of Lenexa. It is necessary for new licenses and for renewals. This license is good for the calendar year.
