Vehicle registration offices are located at 6000 Lamar in Mission and 1327A East Santa Fe (Twin Trails Shopping Center) in Olathe, KS.
A person who has just purchased a car in-state must bring in the car title, bill of sale, an odometer disclosure statement, and name and policy number of their insurance (no-fault insurance is required in Kansas) in order to purchase a license plate.
Those who have purchased a car from out-of-state or have just moved to the state must also have a Highway Patrol identification check. The $10 charge is payable by cash only.
Car owners can conveniently pay for license and property tax at the same time. The person signing the check must present a valid driver's license number.
The Mission office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with special hours for out-of-state title identification checks from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The Olathe office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a. m. to 4:30 p.m., with out-of-state title identification checks from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
