If you are retrieving an animal from the shelter, you will need to pay the appropriate animal fines before you can reclaim your pet. Following are the charges you could be subject to pay.

Animal Impoundment Fees

A daily boarding fee will be charged.

A rabies vaccination license bond fee will be charged if the animal does not have a current City of Lenexa tag or you cannot produce proof of a current rabies vaccination. This bond will apply toward the purchase of a City tag if the pet owner brings in a current proof of vaccination certificate within seven (7) working days of posting bond.

This information applies to any animal impounded by the City of Lenexa. License bond applies to Lenexa residents only.
