In order to operate a retail liquor store in Lenexa, KS you must obtain a retail liquor license.

PROCEDURE:
Before applying for a Lenexa retail liquor license you will need to purchase your Kansas Alcoholic Liquor License from the State of Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. They are located in Topeka and can be reached by phone at 1-785-368-8222.

Upon presentation of your state license and payment of the license fee, a city license is issued for the period covered by the State license. State licenses run for a year from the date of issuance.

Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (CST) on any day when the sale of alcoholic liquors is permitted. Sunday sales are permitted. Based on a recent change in the state law, sales are now allowed on the day of state, local or federal election. Liquor stores are closed on the holidays of Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
