Individuals who live in Johnson County, Kansas may register to vote at any City Hall, Johnson County Library or designated location listed on the Election Commissioner's Homepage - Johnson County Kansas Election Office.

Applications to vote by mail are also available at these locations.

General Elections
The general election of the City officers shall be held on the first Tuesday of April of each odd numbered year, and the terms of the members of the City Council shall be for a period of four (4) years. The Mayor shall serve for a period of four (4) years.

Candidates who wish to file for office must be 18 years of age, a registered voter of the county and complete the appropriate forms which can be obtained at their City Hall. Filing deadline is ten (10) weeks prior to the general election (first Tuesday in April) at 12:00 noon. Besides the filing form, a Statement of Substantial Interest form must also be completed.

The filing fee for the City of Lenexa is $10.00 which is forwarded to the Election Commissioner's Office. A separate $35.00 report fee is also required. This report fee is sent to Topeka. Payment for these fees must be made in cash or by separate checks.
