Michael A. Boehm was elected mayor in January of 2003 and ran unopposed for his four-year term as mayor in April, 2003 and again in April, 2007. Boehm, a lifelong resident of Lenexa, moved to his current address in 1987. He is senior vice president of the Business Banking Group, Commerce Bank, N.A., and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. Mike is actively involved in city, state and national bodies involved in municipal policy and leadership. He serves on a number of public and community service organizations including:

    • League of Kansas Municipalities Board of Directors (President 2005-2006)

    • National League of Cities - Community and Economic Development Committee

    • Lenexa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (ex officio) (2003 – present)

    • Lenexa Chamber of Commerce - Lifetime Member

    • Johnson County Research  Triangle Board of Directors (2008 - present)

    • Johnson County Community College  Foundation Board of Directors

    • Johnson County Community College Carlsen Center Program Advisory Committee

    • Lenexa Historical Society

    • Holy Trinity Catholic Church

As the chief elected official and presiding officer of the City government, Mayor Boehm

    • Presides over Council/Committee of the Whole meetings

    • Represents the City at official and ceremonial functions

    • Appoints advisory committees

    • Maintains relationship with other governmental agencies and civic groups
