Dear Chili Chef:
It is hard to believe that another year has come and gone. With summer winding down we turn our attention to fun fall activities like the 2008 Lenexa Chili Challenge, Midwest Regional Open Championship, presented by 94.9 FM Radio Station.
The top 3 CASI winners automatically qualify for the 2009 Terlingua International Chili Championship with transportation expenses paid to top CASI chili winner ($500.00 value).
Here is your registration and information packet for the 2008 Lenexa Chili Challenge, Midwest Regional Open Championship. This year’s date is October 18, 2008. We always hold the contest on the 3rd Saturday in October.
Again this year there will be two (2) chili divisions, one (1) salsa division, and a hot wing division, along with numerous games and activities for the contestants and spectators. Our contest is sanctioned by CASI, Chili Appreciation Society International, Inc. The CASI (competition) division will follow the rules and regulations set down by CASI. I have enclosed a copy of these. The second division is the Homestyle division, which includes “filler.” “If you call it chili we will judge it.” You will find a map of the event and a listing of last year’s booth locations in your registration packet. If you want your same booth location as last year, please provide the booth number on your registration form or provide your top three (3) locations where you might like to be located. I will try to accommodate as many people as I can. If you have an “RV” or larger vehicle/trailer that will impact your placement, please indicate it on your registration form.
Proceeds from this year’s contest will help benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Please help support their cause.
