The Building Code Board of Appeals is the body that considers any appeal of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official or Fire Chief relative to the International Building Code and other technical codes adopted by the City (Uniform Administrative Code, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, NFPA National Electric Code, sections of the Uniform Fire Code and NFPA Life Safety Code, Uniform Housing Code, Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and local amendments of these codes).

The board consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Governing Body. The membership is required to include an architect, engineer, general contractor, and electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection contractors. The current membership is listed in the Building Code Board of Appeals Roster below. If an appeal is filed meetings are held monthly on the second Thursday at 8:30 AM in the City Hall Council Chambers.
