Knives can be carried provided they do not fall into one of the following categories;

SWITCHBLADES:
A switchblade is any knife that has a blade that opens automatically by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in the handle of the knife or having a blade that opens or falls or is ejected into position by the force of gravity or by an outward, downward or centrifugal thrust or movement.

Knives with blades longer than four (4) inches.

Knives referred to as "dirks and daggers" are also prohibited, as well as the carrying of a straight edged razor. A dagger is a short pointed instrument with sharp edges, usually curved at the pointed end. A dirk is a straight bladed dagger.These knives are considered dangerous weapons, and can be a deadly instrument. Hunting knives in sheaths, longer than 4 inches fall into the dangerous weapons category also, so they must be transported in the same manner as Carrying a Firearm. while en route to and from hunting.

PENALTIES:
Violation of these provisions are subject to the General Penalty for Violation of City Code.
