A Traffic or Parking Ticket is notice to you that you have been cited for a violation of the Standard Traffic Ordinance.

It tells you the:

Date and time of occurrence

Location of occurrence

Person Accused

Description of Violation

What level of Fine the Court has ordered, and

Information about Court appearance

The Police Department is responsible for issuing the ticket, also called a "Notice to Appear and Complaint." The Police Department is not involved in collecting fines or reducing or dismissing charges once a ticket is issued. The issuing officer will take time to explain the procedure from there, going over options such as:

How and where to pay the fine,

How to ask for a hearing, and

How to ask for a continuance

You can obtain more information about the Municipal Court process by visiting the Lenexa Municipal Court
